A Bit About Jamel – in response to your many enquiries

Jamel Boisson lived all of his 22 years for the lord and his family.  Talkative as he was, he would be the life of any get together. He never let his condition hold him back as his time was spent between his beloved job at Beacon Insurance, Rotaract, Police Youth Club, an Acolyte at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, and as a member of Youth For Christ Maraval/Paramin.  He would always be known for singing louder than everybody and clapping out of time especially when it came to singing Sizzla, a Parang or his favourite YFC song; “Trading my Sorrows”.   His friendship and openness would surely be missed but we know that he is smiling down on us as he repeats “….yes Lord…yes Lord…yes, yes Lord…”  R.I.P Jamel

Meanwhile on behalf of all CFC we congratulate Lystra Long (SFC St. Augustine)

Lystra Long has now become a Novice and will be leaving the Dominican Sinsinawa house in St. Joseph on Friday 20, for her new residence in Woodbrook where the other house is located. There was a Mass and celebration for her at which 2 of her old SFC household members attended.  Congrats Lystra.

2006 CFC Theme from Tobit

Reminder from Frank Padilla “we already have our theme for 2006. It is taken from the book of Tobit. Our theme is: “SHOW HIS POWER AND MAJESTY TO A SINFUL NATION” (Tb 13:6).” For those of us who use the Jerusalem Bible the quotation is Tb 13:7. Frank Padilla urges…..”Start reading the book of Tobit.

SCRIPTURE Reflection

"When you are offering your gift at the altar, if you remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother or sister, and then come and offer your gift."  ~Matthew 5:23-24

"First be reconciled to your brother or sister and then come and offer our gift."  First we can get right with other people and then we can get right with God.  If we hold resentment against someone, which we find it very difficult to overcome, we can try to put something else constructive into our minds.  We can pray for the one against whom we hold the resentment.  We can put that person in God's hands and let God show them the way to live.
"Those who say, 'I love God,' and hate their brothers or sisters, are liars; for those who do not love a brother or sister whom they have seen, cannot love God whom they have not seen."

PRAYER:       I pray that I may see something good in every person, even one I dislike, and that I may let God develop the good in that person.
